United States Air Force Museum Trip - October, 2003

Great fun trip made by some of the EAA Chapter members. Group consisted of Bill & Mary Lou Shuler, Ray & Kathy Bock, Chad Bock, Brad Shriner & Emily & Ian, Jim & Luann Gaasch, and Sean Berryman. The bus left Alpena on October 11 and returned on October 13, 2003. The following are pictures of the weekend, including the whole group posing by the bus, various photos in the museum, and winding down at the Days Inn. The Days Inn was a "trip" in itself. The manager as well as the employees were not particularly fluent in English, so when ever we called to the front dest for anything, they thought we wanted "extra towels". We asked for a couple of extra chairs and they would say "extra towels?", and when we said we had an electrical problem they would say "extra towels?" etc. etc. The end of the story is depicted by the photos at the very bottom of this page. A package arrived at the Gaasch home with a return address of Days Inn, Dayton Ohio. We opened the package and lo and behold, "EXTRA TOWELS". Upon investigation it became apparent that the package was really postmarked Alpena. Thanks Shulers, Bocks, and Shriners; it is a momento that will make the trip truly memorable to us.
