Taylorcraft Rebuild Project

EAA #1021 Taylorcraft Rebuild Project

The Alpena Chapter of EAA is the recipient of a donation of a Taylorcraft. Members of the club picked up the aircraft on August 6, 2008 at Oakland Southwest Airport. The generous donation was made to the club by Liz Myer. The project begins.

Fabric has been removed from the aircraft and some of the control surfaces are being prepared for re-covering. An inventory is in process in order to determine what is needed. Due to the expense of buying all necessary parts and materials, it is generally felt that it might be more economically feasible to purchase a similar aircraft for parts than to buy them individually. A search is in process for such an aircraft.

Stay tuned for photos that will follow as the project progresses.
